Planning staff are responsible for:

• Student accommodation
• Enrolment projections
• Capital planning
• Deployment of free-standing portable classrooms
• Identification of sites for alternative and special needs programs
• School closure and reopening
• Leasing
• Booking system for community use of schools
• School site acquisition
• Land planning
• School site development and redevelopment
• Assistance with student safety issues related to traffic near schools
• Liaison with the City of Edmonton and the Province in matters related to planning issues
